Meet Christopher Langmeier, the artist who created the highly sought-after Astrological Mandalas of Self.

You will be able to order your personal one-of-kind original Astrological Mandala of Self at the Expo.

Christopher Explains the Astrological Mandalas of Self and How You Co-create Your Personal Original Artwork with Him

The word Mandala comes from the Sanscrit, meaning circle. In Tibetan Buddhism, the Mandala has the significance of a ritual tool. The purpose is to assist meditation and concentration. Carl Jung, the great psychologist, and mystic student, said, “I knew that in finding the Mandala as an expression of the self, I had attained what was for me, the ultimate.”

The Astrological Natal Chart is, by its very nature, a Mandala, both in form and in meaning. It is the “seed” symbol of the self, containing in its potential form the entire path of our life.

In the Ancient Mysteries, the Hierophant evoked to the Initiate’s outer consciousness the symbolic Image of their Soul. This began a process of liberation, breaking down the hypnotic structures of the past, freeing the individual from mankind’s subconscious influences.

It is with these thoughts in mind that I create these Mandalas of Self, hoping that the artworks I create will serve this same age-old process, bringing the self to the Self.

I ask for a selection of four colors and a personal image. The colors are chosen to represent the four hermetic elements – Fire, Earth, Air and Water. The personal image should be a symbol or image that you are strongly connected to, an image representative of your “self”. This serves as a central focus for meditation on the chart-as-a-whole.

Finally, I ask for a first and middle name to connect the piece to your individual self. The last name is not used as it is the symbolic connection to the family or tribe and not the individual self. The middle name is especially a symbol of individuality as often it is not commonly known, being a “secret” personal name.

Each art piece is an unique, ‘Mandala of Self’ that I sincerely hope will both express the soul of the “Native” and serve as a refreshing reminder of the lifepath of the Self ahead.
